Don came to Calvary Chapel Open Door in 1993. He served under Senior Pastor Roger Stahlhut for nearly 20 years. In the early years, he sang on the worship team for a season and directed Children's Ministry for nearly 15 years. In 2007, He was ordained as an associate pastor. Two years later he was offered an early retirement from the US Postal Service and was employed full time as vice principal of Open Door Christian Academy. In September 2012, Don accepted the position of senior pastor when Pastor Roger took on a pastoral assignment in Oregon.

Arriving in Pasadena, CA, at the tender age of 15 from his homeland Jordan, Pastor Fadi faced immense challenges. With a heartfelt promise to honor his late father's wishes for a better future, he navigated through a new culture, language barriers, and personal grief of loosing his father. But even as he pursued higher education, a deeper void grew within him. It was his eldest brother's simple, profound advice, "Seek God," that paved the path to true transformation. This revelation led Pastor Fadi to fully surrender and embrace Jesus Christ in the summer of 2003, marking a profound Spiritual awakening filled with unparalleled Peace, Love, and Grace.

Post this life-altering encounter with Jesus Christ, Pastor Fadi's life took a divine trajectory and purpose. He was divinely led by the Holy Spirit to La Palma Park in Anaheim CA, where he began ministering among the homeless, sharing God's compassion and love. This humble beginning was a testament to his unwavering faith and dedication to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. It wasn't long before his calling expanded, leading him to start serving the Lord at Calvary Chapel Open Door in 2005, located just across the street from La Palma Park. Today, Pastor Fadi's life stands as a testament to the transformative power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as he continues to reach the lost and inspire countless souls, urging them to seek and embrace the great Salvation that is in Jesus Christ.

Frank, born in San Salvador, El Salvador, was introduced to the word of God by his paternal grandmother, Fidelina. In 1978, he emigrated to the U.S. At the age of 14, he opened his heart and received the Lord. In 1990, he joined the US ARMY Reserves and met his wife, Zoila, whom he later married. In 2003, the Lord brought him to Calvary Chapel Open Door where he finally surrendered his life and marriage. One of his first ministries was leading a monthly visit to Rancho San Juan Bosco Boys Orphanage in Tecate, Mexico. Frank has served in the Children’s Ministries along with his wife.

The first time I heard the gospel I had no initial reaction, I heard what was being said, but I didn’t really get the extent of it and had no reaction, but just knew there was some sort of truth in it. My perspective changed when I needed Christ. I had no one else I could trust not even myself.

The final struggle that went through my mind just before accepting Christ was that I could no longer play ignorant. I say play because I guess I always knew, I just didn’t know what exactly.

Life is different now. I believe I live a free life. Free of worry and fear. I have an attitude of security knowing that I am loved. My perspective on life is to live to tell my story of what has happened to me and how to help others know.

The relationship I have with Christ motivates me. The way He shows me he’s loves me, even when I don’t always make the right choices and the way He shows me that I am never alone by the way He answers my prayers and the strength I get to overcome obstacles when I know I could have not done that on my own.

Although my life still is not perfect, knowing that Christ is for me I now understand there isn’t anything that can come against me. The gospel has helped me deal with this fact, I say fact, because it is proven in the gospel, that I at one time did not understand until I finally accepted Christ and this fact is supported in the gospel.

Lynn married Pastor Don in 1975. They both accepted the Lord on April 7, 1991 and have been serving the Lord here at Calvary Chapel Open Door since 1993. She has served over 20 years in both our Children's Ministry and Women's Ministry and was also part of the Worship Team in the early years. After accepting an early retirement from the US Postal Service, in 2009, Lynn came into the ministry full time. Currently, she teaches 4th to 6th graders and oversees the Elementary School at Open Door Christian Academy. Lynn oversees the Women's Ministry at Open Door.sdf

Gary has been with Calvary Chapel Open Door from the beginning when it started in 1992. He brought with him his knowledge of Sound Reinforcement and Recording Engineering along with being a professional drummer, he has served on the Board of Directors as Secretary for 24 years. And continues to serve as an Elder of the church.
